Island Details provides management and maintenance services in all areas of landscaping, including garden design & installation, cleanup and restoration, and lawn care programs. We build edible gardens, patios, paths, dry creeks and rock walls.

Island Details is seeking an experienced Landscaper/Gardener. This is a year-round, full time, 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday position. Competitive compensation based on work experience.

We seek a person with a minimum of two-years experience in landscaping or a groundskeeper role. Experience in stone work, rock walls, general landscape construction and irrigation systems is not required, but is highly desirable. The position requires high attention to detail and someone who takes pride in their work.

Responsibilities

​

• Maintains all aspects of residential landscapes including weeding, mulching, mowing, blowing, edging, pruning and planting.

• Apply fertilizers, herbicides and pesticides.

• Prioritize and manage projects under time constraints and meeting deadlines while still maintaining high standards.

• Follow daily procedures for proper time keeping, and truck and tool check in & out.

• Safely work outdoors in varying terrain and weather conditions, maintaining a positive attitude and good sense of humor.

• Report to crew lead to ensure the completion of daily maintenance, special projects, appropriate paperwork, and customer requests.

Requirements

​

• Knowledge of and ability to use landscaping and grounds maintenance power tools.

• Operating knowledge of riding mowers and traditional lawn mowers.

• Ability to differentiate between weeds and ornamental plants.

• Flexibility in scheduling and the ability to perform many different tasks.

• Ability to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
